Fonte da Telha sits at the south end of the Costa da Caparica, a long dune-and-cliff-backed beach a short hop south of Lisbon across the Tagus. It is the go-to kite beach for the Lisbon scene, with several schools running lessons here through the season.
The summer Nortada blows side-shore along the beach, producing chop to small-to-medium wind swell — versatile enough for beginners on the inside and intermediates working on waves further out. Its proximity to Lisbon (around 30 minutes) makes it an easy add-on to a city trip.
Lisbon-area schools often rotate between Fonte da Telha, Guincho, Costa da Caparica and the nearby Lagoa de Albufeira lagoon depending on the day's wind and a rider's level.
Prices: Lisbon schools commonly cover Fonte da Telha, Guincho and the Albufeira lagoon under one package. Expect EUR 60–90/h private.
