Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

DriftAtlas (“we”, “us”) is a kiteboarding spot-discovery platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

Feedback you submit: your role, country, rating, comment, and — if you choose — your name, email, and any photo or video you attach.

School waiting-list submissions: school name, contact email, website, and your message.

Usage analytics: aggregate, anonymous, cookieless page-view data (no personal profiles, no cross-site tracking).

Saved spots are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and never sent to us.

Why we use it

To respond to feedback and waiting-list requests, to improve the product, and to contact you about DriftAtlas if you explicitly left your details. We rely on your consent (which you give by submitting a form) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small set of trusted processors to run the service:

Supabase — database & file storage

Vercel — hosting & privacy-friendly analytics

Resend — transactional email

Windy, OpenStreetMap/CARTO — embedded maps & wind data

Cookies

The public site uses no tracking or advertising cookies, and our analytics are cookieless — so no cookie-consent banner is required. We use a single essential cookie only for administrators who log in to manage content.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data you've given us, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we'll action it promptly.

Photo & content takedown

Spot photos are sourced from kite schools (with permission), Wikimedia Commons, or other licensed sources, and are credited. If you believe an image infringes your rights, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
