Nida is the southernmost resort town on the Curonian Spit, the 98-km UNESCO-listed dune peninsula separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. Two coastlines sit within walking distance: the calm, chest-deep lagoon on the east side, and open Baltic swell on the west.
The lagoon side offers flat, shallow water for relaxed riding, while the sea side picks up wind waves when the westerlies blow. The landscape — giant migrating sand dunes, pine forest and old fishermen's cottages — is among the most striking in the Baltics.
Nida is quieter and more atmospheric than the Svencelė hub; it rewards self-sufficient riders, and big-wind days on the sea side are best shared with a buddy.
