Svencelė sits on the eastern shore of the Curonian Lagoon, sheltered from the Baltic Sea by the long Curonian Spit. It has grown from a remote kite spot into Lithuania's main kiteboarding hub — a purpose-built waterfront centre with surf shops, schools and a café now occupies a former Soviet duck farm on the shore.
The water is shallow and practically flat close in — hip-deep near the beach — which makes it an excellent and safe place to learn, with freestyle riders heading out to the right and beginners working the left. The windy season runs roughly March/April to October, with wind on an average of 60–70% of days, mostly from the north-east and south-east.
Long Baltic summer days mean you can ride late into the evening in June, and the surrounding nature reserves keep the setting wild despite the growing scene.
Prices: IKO-certified schools on the spot offer lessons and rental with modern gear. Baltic water is cold — a full wetsuit is needed most of the season.
