Campione del Garda is tucked into a dramatic gorge on the western shore of Lake Garda. The surrounding cliffs act as a natural wind funnel, accelerating the Ora thermal to speeds that regularly exceed 25–30 knots on strong days. This makes it one of the most intense wind spots on the entire lake.
The beach is small and access is tight, so this spot is best suited to confident, self-sufficient kiters who know how to handle strong and sometimes gusty conditions. The water remains relatively flat despite the wind, thanks to the sheltered geography. Foiling and high-wind freestyle are popular here.
The surrounding scenery is breathtaking — steep limestone cliffs plunge directly into the lake, and the village retains an authentic feel compared to more touristy Garda towns. Facilities are limited, so riders should come prepared. Strong Ora days can see extremely rapid wind increases; knowing when to rig down is essential.
